Many communication curriculums have abandoned the artistic imperative to produce communicable work that resonates with the human condition. At Geneva we have adopted a confessional aesthetic that recognizes the importance of personal and disciplined practice aiming to produce works that communicate what is true, good, and sensible.

The mission of the communication department is to enable students to gain the skills, insights, perspectives, and knowledge to become effective, competent, wise communicators as they represent Christ in their professions, communities, and families.

The ability to communicate well with others is an invaluable one, and communications majors are in high demand as companies put a premium on hiring people who can work well with superiors, colleagues, subordinates, partners, existing clients, and potential clients.
The Geneva College Board of Trustees approved a new major of study called Communication Design that is accepting students for the fall 2019 semester. Communication Design students will study communication theory alongside courses in art practices supported by apprenticeship and internship opportunities.
